“Our experiences with our daughter opened our eyes to the challenges so many families face,” said Mike Tauchman. “Those early months were filled with uncertainty and stress, but they also showed us the importance of compassion and community. Partnering with Lurie Children’s Hospital is a way for Eileen and I to help bring comfort, hope, and practical support to families going through similar situations.”

“I have enormous respect for anyone who has served in uniform,” said Higashioka. “It’s important to me to give back to those who have made unimaginable sacrifices for our country—and humbling to continue my partnership with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and support their work in any way I can.”

“As a father myself, I want to ensure that as many kids as possible get the same opportunities and resources as my own,” said Wacha. “I’m honored by this award from the Players Trust in support of Make-A-Wish, and will do my best to continue making a positive impact in the lives of Kansas City’s children.”
