In an effort to show appreciation and gratitude for those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, Major League Baseball Players surprised healthcare workers across the country in a series of virtual events.
 
Players were paired with a hospital in a city that they currently play or have played in to personally thank frontline workers for their continued commitment to saving the lives of others. In addition to the call, the Players surprised each hospital with a $5,000 gift on behalf of the Players Trust to support employee relief and recognition efforts.
 
By connecting Players’ commitment to philanthropy with our mission to create meaningful change in the well-being of others, we amplify our collective impact throughout the communities where Players live, play, and call home. High Fives for Our Healthcare Heroes is one way the Trust and our Players give back together.
