2023 Season

The inaugural MVP season recognized three Players for their philanthropic leadership. Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was named Philanthropist of the Year, with a $25,000 grant to the Francisco Lindor Scholarship Fund

2026 MVP

Kyle Gibson

September MVP

Gibson was named the final Most Valuable Philanthropist of the 2023 season. The Players Trust awarded a $5,000 grant in his honor to Big League Impact, supporting his extensive charitable work including donations to the Maryland Food Bank, Crisis Aid International, and community fundraisers with his Orioles teammates.

Pete Alonso

July MVP

Alonso was recognized for his Love of the Game initiative through The Alonso Foundation, awarding grants and game tickets to youth organizations across the New York area. His foundation partners with Citibank and PDQ Restaurants to expand community impact and bring baseball closer to underserved communities.

Liam Hendriks

May MVP

“We’re resolved to face what lays ahead and know initiatives like this can help us ‘Close Out Cancer,’” said Hendriks. Through the Close Out Cancer campaign with the Chicago White Sox, Hendriks and his wife Kristi raised more than $100,000 for the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Patient Aid Grant Program.
